RIO RANCHO, NM – The New Mexico IceHoles Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce it has finalized a partnership with KKNS 1310 AM La Norteñita in Albuquerque to be the official media partner of the New Mexico IceHoles.  

The relationship between the New Mexico IceHoles and La Norteñita radio is an ideal match of two organizations working with the greater community of the Albuquerque – Rio Rancho area. 

“We are excited to have KKNS La Norteñita Radio as our media partner this year,” said Lou Lafrado, director of the NM IceHoles Charitable Foundation. 

The partnership will immediately benefit the next NM IceHoles event scheduled for 19 January 2008 at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho.

The game will feature the New Mexico IceHoles hockey club and the Albuquerque Media Jackals squad in their annual match to raise funds this year for Special Olympics New Mexico.

“We have already seen a great deal of interest from the partnership with KKNS La Norteñita Radio,” said Lafrado.

“Here at KKNS La Norteñita we believe whole heartedly in giving back to the Community.  It is an honor to stand side by side with the New Mexico IceHoles in all of their endeavors,” said Jose Luis Marquez “El Pitufo” Morning Show host and Operations Manager of KKNS.

This year’s game at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho’s City Center area will be followed at 7:15 PM by the New Mexico Scorpions facing off with the Wichita Thunder. 

 “Ticket sales are increased for our game because of this and we look forward to a long-term relationship with 1310 AM,” continued the NM IceHoles director and team captain. 

 Tickets to the IceHoles’ game are $15 and allow the ticket holder to attend both the IceHoles – Media Jackals game and the New Mexico Scorpions game later that night.

The game will feature the New Mexico IceHoles hockey club and the Albuquerque Media Jackals squad in their annual match to raise funds and awareness for local charities in the Rio Grande Valley. 

 This year’s game at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho’s City Center area will be followed at 7:15 PM by the New Mexico Scorpions facing off with the Wichita Thunder. 

 The target charity this year is the Special Olympics New Mexico.  Proceeds from the event will support Special Olympians and a variety of efforts by Special Olympics New Mexico.

 Tickets to the IceHoles game are $15 and allow the ticket holder to attend both the IceHoles – Media Jackals game and the New Mexico Scorpions game later that night.

May 21, 2007 - We are proud to announce that the Governor’s Award for Nonprofit Volunteer Program has received the Governor's Nonprofit Volunteer Program Award for 2006.  The award is made to the program that “exemplifies exceptional volunteer management practices”.
